Availability

Original oil paintings must be archivally prepared and properly preserved to assure they will remain lightfast for decades. Sheila uses a proprietary archival preservation process to protect her work from oxidation and ultraviolet light degradation. This takes from 3 to 4 months to complete before her paintings can be shipped. The "Available" date show when the work will be ready to ship.

If you order a painting that has a future availability date, you will receive a Certificate of Authenticity which includes a full color digital photo of your purchase. The Certificate of Authenticity will be mailed to you within a week of receiving your order. If the painting is available "NOW" then the CoA will be shipped with the painting. Paintings are shipped within a week of their availability date.

Giclee Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Giclée (pronounced zhee-klay)?
The term "giclee print" connotes an elevation in printmaking technology. Images are generated from high resolution digital scans and printed with archival quality inks onto various substrates including canvas, fine art, and photo-base paper. The giclee printing process provides better color accuracy than other means of reproduction.

How good is the quality of a giclee?
The quality of giclee prints rival traditional silver-halide and gelatin printing processes and is commonly found in museums, art galleries, and photographic galleries. In fact, n
umerous examples of giclee prints can be found in New York City at the Metropolitan Museum, the Museum of Modern Art, and the Chelsea Galleries. Recent auctions of giclee prints have fetched $10,800 for Annie Leibovitz, $9,600 for Chuck Close, and $22,800 for Wolfgang Tillmans (April 23/24 2004, Photographs, New York, Phillips de Pury & Company.)

Limited Edition Enhanced Giclee

Giclées are available for many works. Editions are limited to thirty three (33) giclees, plus two artist's proofs for each original painting. Our Giclées are extremely high resolution duplicates of the original work that are digitally imprinted on actual artist's canvas* using archival inks. The artist hand-enhances each giclee by painting highlights directly on the giclee canvas using the same vibrant oil colors used to create the original work. This enhances both color and vibrancy, and assures that no two giclées are exactly alike. Each Limited Edition Enhanced Giclée is hand signed by the artist.

If you want to order a giclée for an original that does not list one, please contact us for a price quote and delivery date. Delivery of custom giclees generally takes about 30 to 60 days. Each giclée is indelibly marked with the edition number and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the artist.

* All giclées are mounted on standard ¾" canvas stretcher bars, consequently when giclées are made from canvases that have 1½" or 2½" edges, the edge art is not reproduced.

Deep Edge Canvases

Canvases with edges that are 1½" (inches) or deeper do not need framing. On these deep edge pieces, the painting wraps completely around the edge of the work to form a standalone piece that can be hung framed or unframed according to your desire.
